Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g cheese (Romadur)
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • ¼ liter cream
  • 1 egg(s)
  • nutmeg
  • pepper
  • some butter (to grease the mold)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

delicious with fine vegetables

Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly. Cut the Romadur cheese into strips. Whisk the cream with the egg and seasonings. Grease an ovenproof dish and arrange a layer of potato slices in a brick pattern. Arrange some of the Romadur cheese strips on top. Continue this process until all ingredients are used. Finish with a layer of potato slices and pour over the cream and egg mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 225°C on the middle rack for about 35 minutes until golden brown. This gratin tastes delicious with creamed mushrooms or cauliflower.
