Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Skin the sausage and cut into cubes, peel the onion, halve the bell pepper, remove the seeds, and remove the white membranes. Finely dice the onion and the bell pepper into slightly larger cubes. Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water according to the instructions. Brown the sausage cubes in oil, add the onion and bell pepper, and let them brown slightly. Combine the cooked and drained pasta with the sausage, onion, and bell pepper in a casserole dish. Heat the margarine, stir in the flour, and carefully pour in the milk and broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. If the sauce is too thick, add a little more milk or broth. Stir in the processed cheese and let it dissolve. Season with salt and pepper and pour the sauce over the prepared ingredients in the casserole dish. Bake the casserole for about 30 minutes at 200°C.
