Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 400 g penne or short macaroni
- 3 onions, diced
- 500 ml tomato(s), strained (can)
- 400 ml diced tomatoes (can)
- 3 bell peppers, cleaned and diced
- 250 g salami, diced
- 2 cans of tuna in oil
- 350 g cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
- Sugar
- Thyme
- oregano
- rosemary
- e.g. chili
- Garlic
- oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
Lightly fry the onions in a little oil, add the bell pepper (stirring occasionally), and after 2 minutes, the tomatoes. Bring to a boil, season generously with salt, pepper, a generous pinch of sugar, and the spices. Meanwhile, cook the pasta “al dente,” drain, and place in a greased, wide casserole dish. Add the salami to the sauce, mix well, and stir into the pasta. Spread the drained tuna over the top, sprinkle with the cheese, and bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for about 15-20 minutes. Tip: Since my fellow diners always dig in to this recipe, it should be enough for 6 people, even if they’re sharing it with children.
