Tomato-Mozzarella-Gratin

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 375 g mozzarella
  • Butter, for the mold
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, for drizzling
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tbsp green pesto
  • Basil, for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems, and slice them. Drain the mozzarella balls well and slice them as well. Grease a baking dish. Layer the tomato and mozzarella slices. Drizzle with olive oil, season generously with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper, and cook in an oven preheated to 180–200°C for 18–20 minutes. Once the cooking time is complete, remove the tomato and mozzarella gratin from the oven, drizzle with pesto, garnish with basil, and serve immediately.
