French toast with beer ham sausage in egg casing

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 slices of whole-grain toast
  • 120 g sausage (beer ham)
  • 2 eggs, size M
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • some salt
  • 2 tbsp clarified butter
  • 2 heads of romaine lettuce (mini romaine lettuce)
  • some dressing (French dressing) or salad dressing of your choice

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

delicious for dinner, a bit spicy

In a soup bowl, whisk the two eggs vigorously. Season with salt and chili powder. Spread the beer ham sausage on two slices of toast, place the other two slices on top, and press them together firmly. Heat clarified butter in a pan, gently coat the sandwiches in the beaten egg, and fry in the clarified butter until browned on both sides. Trim the romaine lettuce, halve it lengthwise, and cut into strips. Toss with the dressing. Remove the fried toast slices and cut each into two pieces. Arrange on a plate with the romaine lettuce.
