Peach and fig jam with port wine

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g peach(s), fresh
  • 500 g fig(s), fresh
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 1 lemon(s), untreated, juice and zest
  • 6 tbsp port wine

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Peel, stone, and finely chop the peaches and figs (use the fig skins if they’re nice). Place them in a saucepan. Mix with sugar, lemon juice, and zest, and simmer for about 40 minutes, until the mixture sets. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the port wine. Pour the hot fruit mixture into jars and seal.
