Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 onion(s), red, peeled, coarsely chopped
  • 300 g bacon or bacon cubes, both low-fat
  • 20 g olive oil
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 80 g apple cider vinegar
  • 60 g maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee powder
  • 2 tsp paprika powder, smoked
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 2 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 22 minutes

perfect barbecue side dish or dip

Place the garlic and onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds/speed 5. Scrape everything down the mixing bowl with the spatula, then add the bacon and chop for 5 seconds/speed 4. Add the olive oil and cook for 10 minutes/120°C/on the gentle setting. Add the sugar, vinegar, maple syrup, coffee powder, paprika powder, cinnamon, and chili flakes and cook for 10 minutes/120°C/on the gentle setting without the measuring jug, using the simmering basket to prevent splashing. Blend everything for 5 seconds/speed 6. Pour the finished mixture into prepared jars and seal while still hot. Tip: When adding sugar, vinegar, maple syrup, etc., I recommend adding a shot of bourbon whiskey. This gives the whole thing a smokier note. Note: The bacon jam will keep in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for about 14 days.
