Ciabatta – Bread

The perfect ciabatta – bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 400 g Flour type 405
  • 3 tsp Sugar
  • 1 heaped tsp Salt
  • 0,25 cube Yeast
  • 270 ml Water
  • Some flour for dough processing
  1. Mix the flour, sugar and salt in a bowl.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and add.
  3. Mix everything well with the wooden spoon.
  4. The dough is very soft and should therefore rest covered for at least 2 hours so that the aroma can develop.
  5. Place the dough on a heavily floured work surface and fold into a packet with slightly damp hands.
  6. Cover and let rest on the work surface for 30 minutes.
  7. Then fold the dough twice again into packets and cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
  8. Prepare a baking sheet with baking paper.
  9. Sprinkle some flour on the baking sheet.
  10. Sprinkle a little flour on the dough and form a strand of dough approx. 30 cm long.
  11. Place on the baking sheet and sprinkle with a little flour.
  12. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  13. Preheat the oven to 220 ° top / bottom heat.
  14. Approx. Bake for 22 minutes and then leave to cool on a wire rack.
