Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 3 dl cream
- 2 dl milk
- 0.1 g saffron threads
- 5 egg yolks
- 1 dl cane sugar
- 50 g butter
- some honey, liquid
- 2 tbsp syrup (rose syrup)
- Pistachios
- strawberries
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
For the ice cream machine
Slowly bring the cream, milk, and saffron threads to a boil while stirring. Blend the egg yolks with the cane sugar, rose syrup, and butter until creamy. Add the boiled cream to the egg yolk mixture, stir, and heat gently while stirring until the right consistency is reached, but do not bring to a boil. Let cool and transfer to the ice cream maker along with the honey. Serving suggestion: Sprinkle with pistachios and garnish with strawberries, if desired.
