Date and feta cheese skewers with bacon

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 250 g feta cheese made from goat and sheep milk
  • 200 g bacon, sliced
  • 200 g date(s), dried and pitted

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

for grill or pan

Cut the feta into cubes. The cubes shouldn’t be too small so that they can be skewered. Halve the bacon slices and wrap one half around the feta cubes. Wrap the other half around the dates. Alternate three pieces of feta and three dates on skewers and fry them in a pan until golden all over or grill them on the barbecue. In my experience, the skewers taste best grilled, but you do have to be careful that the feta doesn’t get too soft. This recipe makes about 16 skewers, which are very filling. They’re also delicious cold at a buffet.
