Quark dumplings

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 g flour
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 60 g butter
  • 60 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Sweet main course

First, mix together the quark, eggs, flour, and vanilla sugar. Then heat the milk with the butter and sugar. Grease a deep baking dish and pour in the heated milk, butter, and sugar mixture. Now use two teaspoons to scoop out dumplings from the quark mixture and place them close together in the milk mixture. The teaspoon should be quite full; this also depends on the size of the baking dish. If you have any quark mixture left over at the end, it’s best to use it to fill a few of the quark holes. Preheat the oven to 155 degrees Celsius and bake the dumplings for 30-45 minutes. They should look nice and light brown and crispy. I always serve them with vanilla sauce, but they’re also delicious with fruit compote.
