Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 2 shallots
  • 1 garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 tbsp crème fraîche
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • 150 g ham, cooked, diced
  • 250g mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 8 slices of white bread

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 32 minutes

Finely chop the shallots and garlic and sauté in olive oil. Add the tomato paste and crème fraîche. Remove from the heat and season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Thinly slice the mozzarella and chop the capers. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Toast the bread slices until golden brown, spread with the tomato paste, and arrange the ham and capers on top. Arrange the mozzarella slices on top and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
