Hunter's sauce with paprika

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • some oil
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red or green, diced
  • 2 medium-sized onions, cut into half rings
  • some flour, for dusting (not too sparingly)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 500 ml beef broth or stock
  • 1 jar mushrooms, sliced, fresh ones are also fine
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • possibly herbs, fresh

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

for schnitzels, meatballs, etc.

Heat a little oil in the pan you previously used to fry schnitzel, for example. First, add the bell peppers and fry them briefly, then add the onions and coat with flour. When the onions begin to brown, add the tomato paste and simmer briefly. Then deglaze with the beef broth and simmer slightly. Then add the well-drained mushrooms and heat through. If using fresh mushrooms, fry them first. Finally, season to taste with the herbs and spices.
