Marinated herring

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 pack of fish fillet(s) (cream herring)
  • 1 apple
  • 5 gherkins
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 grains allspice
  • 8 peppercorns
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Pepper, ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Strip some of the herring and cut into pieces, about 2 cm wide. Peel and dice the apple. Dice the cucumber and onion. Place everything in a bowl and season with allspice, pepper, peppercorns, and bay leaves. Top with the herring cream sauce, sour cream, and whipped cream. To allow the marinated herring to develop its flavor, cover and let it marinate overnight. Serve with potatoes.
