Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 herring fillets
  • 1 shallot(s)
  • 8 radishes
  • 2 gherkins
  • 1 tbsp dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp chives, in rolls
  • lemon juice
  • Pepper, white
  • 2 eggs (if necessary)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Wash the herring fillet, pat dry, and dice very finely. Peel the shallot and trim the radish, also finely dice both. Drain the cucumber and dice finely. Combine the prepared ingredients with the dill and chives, and season with lemon juice and pepper. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes. If desired, you can also add 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped like the other ingredients, and mix in! This tastes great with fresh hash browns (there are plenty of recipes in the database), or with frozen products, and 1 tablespoon of crème fraîche!
