Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g gherkins
  • 150 g onion(s)
  • 60 g butter
  • 40 g sugar
  • 4 tbsp curry powder
  • 1,000 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 70 g tomato paste
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp Sambal Oelek, less or more to taste
  • 20 g vinegar (fruit)
  • 1 cube of meat broth

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Chop the gherkins and onions into pieces, then blend them in a blender. Place the onion, butter, and sugar in a saucepan and sauté for about 3 minutes. Add the curry and sauté for another 2 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients, including the chopped gherkins, cook for 15 minutes, and season to taste. While still hot, pour into four clean 450g jars or bottles and seal immediately. Also suitable as a barbecue and fondue sauce. It will keep in the refrigerator for several months.
