Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 small pears, 150 g each
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • 400 ml white wine
  • 400 ml water
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 2 tsp peppercorns, mixed
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 pinch of anise powder
  • 1 pinch of cardamom powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the pears and drizzle with lemon juice. Combine the white wine, sugar, water, and spices in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer the pears for 1 minute. Remove the pears and place them in a jar with the chili peppers. Pour the liquid over them. The fruit should be covered. Seal the jar. It also makes a lovely gift.
