Apple-Amaretto-Quark Dish

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1 pinch(s) vanilla flavor
  • 1 dashes lemon juice
  • 500 g apples
  • 4 tbsp Amaretto
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 4 tbsp almonds, chopped
  • 3 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the apples and dice them. Combine the water and Amaretto in a saucepan and briefly sauté the apples, then let them cool. Toast the almonds in a dry, nonstick pan (stir frequently, or they’ll burn). Once they’re lightly browned, add 0.5–1 tablespoon of sugar and let them caramelize briefly. Using a hand mixer, thoroughly mix the low-fat quark, vanilla extract, the remaining sugar, and a squeeze of lemon. Divide the stewed apples into four bowls, pour the quark mixture over them, and refrigerate until ready to serve. Apple juice can also be used instead of Amaretto.
