Stewed apples with vanilla ice cream

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 apples (e.g. Gala)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 4 scoops of ice cream (vanilla ice cream)
  • some cinnamon powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

perfect for the cold season

Quarter and peel the apples, remove the cores, and cut into finger-thick pieces. Place the apple pieces in a saucepan (do not stack them). Sprinkle with sugar and vanilla sugar, then pour over water and lemon juice. Sauté over low heat until tender, but do not allow to fall apart. I turn the apples over occasionally. Serve with vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon (while still hot).
