Latte Macchiato with orange syrup

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 orange(s), organic
  • 1 pinch of cardamom
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp cane sugar
  • 2 espressos prepared from capsules or freshly ground powder
  • 400 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the orange with hot water, dry it, and grate the zest. Halve the orange and squeeze the juice. Bring the orange juice to a boil with the cardamom, cinnamon, half the orange zest, and the sugar. Simmer the mixture for about 15 minutes until syrupy. Then strain the syrup through a sieve and let it cool. Prepare the two espressos. Pour half of the orange syrup into each glass. Froth the milk and divide between two glasses. Pour one espresso into each glass and sprinkle with the remaining orange zest.
