Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 g tomatoes, peeled (canned or fresh)
  • ½ bell pepper(s), red
  • ½ bell pepper(s), green
  • 1 tbsp chili paste
  • 100 ml tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • e.g. salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 20 minutes

Heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Add the chopped onions and stir until translucent. Now add the canned tomatoes and stir. Peel and finely dice the fresh tomatoes. Wash the bell peppers, remove the seeds, and finely dice them. Add the diced tomatoes to the tomato and onion mixture, season with salt and pepper, and mix well. Simmer uncovered for about 1 hour, then reduce the heat to low. After an hour, add the chili paste, the pureed tomatoes, and the lime juice. Stir everything together and simmer, covered, for 2 hours. Finally, season again with salt and pepper.
