Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 slices of toast
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 30 g horseradish, grated, depending on taste and spiciness
  • ¼ liter vegetable broth
  • 1 dash of lemon juice
  • salt and pepper

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

traditional, warm sauce for beef made from horseradish

Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan. Trim the edges of the toasted bread and add them to the milk. Stir with a fork. Add the lemon juice, vegetable stock, and grated horseradish and simmer until reduced to a creamy sauce. Finally, season with salt and pepper and serve warm with beef or boiled beef.
