Minute steaks with bacon and mushrooms

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 6 steak(s) (minute pork steaks)
  • 12 slices of bacon
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp herbs, frozen
  • 3 tbsp mushrooms, frozen (or 1 small can, drained)
  • 1 tbsp sour cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the minute steaks in half lengthwise, season lightly with salt and pepper, and wrap a strip of bacon around each steak. Heat a large knob of butter in a non-stick pan, brown the minute steaks, and place a lid on the pan. Reduce the heat slightly. Let the steaks simmer for about 4-5 minutes, turning once if necessary. A nice browned crust should form. Remove the steaks, keep warm, and briefly sauté a small diced onion and the mushrooms in the browned crust, seasoning with herbs and sour cream. Finally, return the meat to the sauce and toss to coat. There isn’t much sauce, so it’s best served with croquettes or hash browns.
