Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 pork chops
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 pinches of pepper
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 large onions
  • 250 g mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 100 ml white wine, maybe a little more
  • 12 tbsp cream
  • 200 g cheese, grated, mild

Instructions

Rub the cut sides of the halved garlic clove, 1 teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of pepper all over the chops. Fry the chops in 1.5 tablespoons of butter for five minutes on each side and place in a large, ovenproof dish. Melt the remaining butter in a pan and sauté the chopped onions and the trimmed, sliced ​​mushrooms. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, salt, and a pinch of pepper. Stir in the white wine and cream and bring to a boil. Spread this mixture over the chops and sprinkle with the grated cheese. Bake the dish at 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) until the cheese is golden brown.
