Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 tsp tea (Darjeeling), or other mild black tea
- 1 piece(s) ginger root, thumb-sized
- 2 tbsp, heaped sugar
- 1 liter of water
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Peel the ginger and slice it thinly. Pour the tea into a tea tong, for example. Add both ingredients along with the sugar to the boiling water. Remove the tea after about 4 minutes, otherwise the iced tea will become bitter. The ginger should remain in the water for about 10 minutes. Now let it cool slightly and then refrigerate. With this amount of sugar, the tea is slightly less sweet than most ready-made iced teas. However, I find it much more refreshing this way.
