Homemade peach iced tea

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 8 large peaches or 10 flat peaches
  • 2 liters of water
  • n. B. sugar
  • 6 tea bags, black

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 5 hours 45 minutes

makes about 2 – 3 liters of iced tea

Halve the peaches and remove the pits. This works best with ripe fruit. Roughly dice the flesh and place it in a large pot. Fill the pot with 2-3 liters of water. Bring to a boil briefly and then simmer over medium heat for about half an hour. Remove the pot from the heat and add the tea bags. I also like to use decaffeinated black tea, which makes the iced tea great for evening use. After the steeping time, remove the tea bags and season to taste. Depending on the sweetness of the fruit, you may need to add a little more sugar. I often don’t need any, as I don’t like it too sweet. Drain the fruit and bottle the tea. If you like, you can add a few peach pieces for decoration. Chill for about 5 hours.
