Hot chocolate

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 ml milk
  • 50 ml cream
  • 30 g chocolate
  • ½ tsp drink powder (Ovomaltine)
  • 1 pinch of vanilla, ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

with real chocolate, Ovomaltine and vanilla

Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie. Heat the milk, cream, Ovaltine, and vanilla in a saucepan until hot (do not boil). Once the chocolate is well melted, add it. Whisk well to ensure the chocolate is fully combined with the cream. Serve as soon as the chocolate has combined. The milk should not boil, as otherwise it will taste different and, in my opinion, less delicious. The chocolate makes the drink quite sweet, so I would only use real vanilla, not vanilla sugar. It tastes best with fine or dark chocolate (high cocoa content), but any chocolate will work too. If you can afford it, top with a dollop of whipped cream, garnished with cocoa powder.
