Apple strips

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 apples
  • 800 g pork fillet(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 125 ml white wine
  • 250 ml beef stock (jar)
  • 125 ml apple juice
  • 200 g crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp marjoram, fresh, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Winter kitchen

Peel and finely dice the onion. Peel and core the apples, then slice or dice them. Cut the meat into strips. Season the meat as desired and sear in hot oil, then remove and set aside. Add the butter to the pan and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the apples and honey and glaze until light brown. Deglaze with white wine and top up with beef stock and apple juice. Simmer for 4-6 minutes, then stir in the crème fraîche and return the meat to the pan. Sprinkle with marjoram and bring back to a boil. Serve with spaetzle.
