Hearty sausage and cheese sauce

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 2 packs of bratwurst (Nuremberg bratwurst)
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tbsp parsley, frozen
  • 450 ml milk, low-fat
  • 400 ml water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable broth, instant
  • 3 tbsp, heaped processed cheese (Gouda processed cheese)
  • 3 tbsp sauce thickener, light
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • Plant cream or oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

for spaetzle

Cut the sausages into small pieces. Dice the onions. Fry both in a little vegetable cream or oil. Season generously with salt, pepper, and paprika. Add the milk, water, and broth, bring to a boil, and melt the cheese spread. Stir in the parsley. If the sauce is still too runny, stir in a little light sauce thickener and bring to a boil briefly. This goes well with spaetzle.
