Turmeric latte or golden milk

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 piece(s) turmeric, fresh, thumb-sized
  • 1 piece(s) fresh ginger, half-thumb-sized
  • 1 pinch(s) pepper, freshly ground
  • ½ tsp, smothered cinnamon
  • ½ tsp, leveled coconut oil
  • 300 ml plant milk (plant drink) (preferably unsweetened soy milk)
  • e.g. honey or vegetable sweetener (approx. 1/2 – 1 heaped tsp)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 7 minutes; Total time approx. 12 minutes

Peel the turmeric and ginger and chop into small pieces. Rinse the used cutting board/knife and your hands immediately afterward; the yellow color of turmeric is very stubborn! Blend all ingredients, except the honey, with a hand blender. Pour the mixed milk into a saucepan and bring to a boil briefly, then reduce the heat to low and let it steep for a few minutes. Pour the liquid through a sieve directly into a cup or glass and briefly froth it with a milk frother. Stir in the honey and enjoy! The easiest place to find fresh turmeric is at a health food store. Coconut oil is available, for example, in drugstores, health food stores, or in the organic section of supermarkets/discount stores. The amount of turmeric and ginger can, of course, be adjusted to your taste—depending on how intense you like it.
