Elderberry roaster

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g elderberries
  • ¼ liter of water
  • 1 bag of mulled wine spice (Glühfix)
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 apple
  • 5 plums (prunes)
  • ½ pack of pudding powder (vanilla)
  • some milk to mix
  • some Cremefine for whipping

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Insider tip

Bring the elderberries to a boil with water, mulled wine, and the cinnamon stick, and simmer. In the meantime, peel the apple and finely chop or grate it. Similarly, finely chop the plums (peel them if you like). Add the apple and plums after 20 minutes. Simmer for another 10 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick and mulled wine. Then mix the custard powder with a little milk. Remove the elderberry compote from the heat and stir in the mixed custard powder. Very important: Do not allow the elderberry compote to boil any further. Serve it on two plates and sweeten to taste. Add a dash of whipped cream to finish. It also tastes great as a side dish to sweet dumplings.
