Onion Tomato Toast

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 slices of bread (multigrain bread)
  • Butter or remoulade
  • 2 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 4 slices of cheese (butter cheese)
  • 3 onions
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • butter
  • ½ tsp caraway seeds
  • 3 tbsp crème fraîche
  • Salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • Cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp marjoram

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Toast the bread and spread with butter or remoulade sauce. Slice the tomatoes and place them on the bread. Dice the onion and garlic clove and sauté in a pan with the caraway seeds until translucent. Stir in the crème fraîche and season generously with salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, and marjoram. Spread the mixture over the tomatoes and top with the cheese. Bake in the oven for about 6 minutes.
