Baked gyro-style sliced ​​meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g pork, shredded, seasoned gyros style
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 150 g mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp brandy
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 100 g cheese
  • Herbs
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Trim, wash, and finely chop the bell peppers. Trim the mushrooms, halving or quartering them depending on their size. Heat oil in a large pan. Brown the meat in batches all over, then remove and set aside. Then brown the bell pepper pieces and mushrooms in the frying fat. Add the meat back to the pan and mix with the bell peppers and mushrooms. Stir in the brandy and tomato paste and bring everything to a boil. Stir in the sour cream. Pour all ingredients into a baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Serve immediately and garnish with some herbs, if desired. Serve with flatbread, baguette, or roasted potatoes and salad.
