Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 fig(s), fresh
  • 1 tsp goat’s cheese
  • 1 slice(s) ham (Serrano), thinly sliced
  • Honey, liquid
  • Black pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

A taste explosion as an amuse gueule, starter or small snack

For an amuse-gueule, wash and dry the fig, halve or quarter it, depending on its size. If serving as an appetizer, make two cross-shaped incisions at the pointed end, approximately halfway through. Then hold the fig in both hands, using your thumb, index finger, and middle finger, and gently press it into the fruit from the outer base so that the four incisions point outwards, forming a basket-like shape. Spread each portion with goat’s cheese (about the size of a walnut for an amuse-gueule, a heaped teaspoon for an appetizer), drizzle with a few drops of honey. Roll up the slice of ham decoratively and place it on top. If desired, grind fresh black pepper over it. Serve the amuse-gueule on a spoon. As an appetizer, serve with some leaf salad and a salad dressing made from fruity vinegar and oil. And then enjoy – an explosion of flavor in your mouth! In my family, even those who don’t particularly like fruity-salty combinations snatch it out of my hands, and fanatical goat cheese haters suddenly become as meek as lambs. Give it a try!
