Potato cake with cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 m.-sized potatoes
  • 30 g butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove(s), grated
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 200 g breadcrumbs
  • 125 g Cheddar cheese or medium-aged Gouda, grated
  • 50 g Parmesan, freshly grated
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Line a 20 cm springform pan with parchment paper and grease the sides. Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly. Heat the butter and olive oil, add the pepper and grated garlic. Arrange a layer of potato slices overlapping each other on the bottom of the springform pan and brush with the butter mixture. Mix the breadcrumbs and cheese and sprinkle some of it over the potato layer, continuing in layers. The last layer should be cheese. Press everything down firmly. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) for about 1 hour.
