Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 120 g onion(s), red, cut into rings
  • 15 g butter
  • 10 g honey
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 700 g minced beef
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • 8 slice(s) cheese, e.g. Nordberger or Alter Schwede
  • 8 slice(s) apple, approx. 3 – 4 mm thick
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 2 tbsp sauce (mustard sauce)

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Sauté the onions in butter in a pan. Then add the honey and sauté everything over low heat for 10 minutes, later seasoning with salt and pepper. Trim, wash, and spin dry the lettuce. Form the minced meat into four flat patties the size of the bread rolls (buns) and sear them in a pan over high heat in 20 ml olive oil on both sides, then season with salt and pepper. Flip each patty over high heat and top with two slices of cheese. Reduce the heat and let the patties cook until pink. Brush the apple slices with 10 ml olive oil and cook in a grill pan (or contact grill) over medium heat for 1-2 minutes on each side. Cut the buns in half and also toast them in the grill pan for 20 seconds on each side, then brush with the remaining olive oil and sprinkle with rosemary and salt. Top the bottom halves of the buns with mustard sauce, apple slices, beef patty, onions and lettuce, then cover with the top halves of the buns and serve immediately.
