Asparagus on wood-fired bread topped with cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of bread (wood-fired bread)
  • 500 g asparagus, white, fresh
  • 1 pack of hollandaise sauce or homemade
  • 100 g herb cream cheese
  • 4 slices of Gouda or Cheddar cheese
  • 4 slice(s) ham, optional
  • n. B. Clarified butter
  • n. B. herbal salt
  • n. B. Pepper, black, from the mill
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • e.g. parsley, fresh

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

with hollandaise sauce and ham

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (convection oven). Wash and peel the asparagus, remove any woody ends, and cook in water with a generous pinch of sugar for about 10-15 minutes until soft. Meanwhile, toast the wood-fired bread in a pan with plenty of clarified butter on both sides. Spread the toasted bread with cream cheese, top with the ham, asparagus, and a generous amount of hollandaise sauce. Season well with herb salt and pepper. Then top with 1-2 slices of cheese and bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius (convection oven) for about 5-10 minutes, until the cheese has melted. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
