Green asparagus, baked

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g asparagus, green
  • 4 slices of toast
  • 1 packet of hollandaise sauce
  • 4 slice(s) ham, cooked
  • 2 slices cheese (Gouda, medium-aged)
  • 50 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Clean the asparagus and cook it in a little water with sugar, salt, and butter until al dente. Meanwhile, toast the bread. Place two slices in each small baking dish. (If preparing for two people, use two small baking dishes. If you don’t have one, you can also do everything in one large one, but I find it better this way.) Season the finished sauce with a little lemon juice. When the asparagus is cooked, drain. Divide into two portions. Stack two slices of cooked ham on top of each other and place the asparagus in the middle. Pour a little of the sauce over the asparagus. Then roll up the sides of the cooked ham and place this asparagus and ham roll on the two slices of toast. Spread the remaining sauce evenly between both portions. Place a slice of Gouda cheese on top of each dish and sprinkle with some grated cheese to finish. Bake the dishes on a rack on the middle shelf of the oven (preheat oven to 190°C/375°F) for 15 minutes. A green salad or lamb’s lettuce with sweet and sour lemon dressing goes well with this.
