A slightly different apple compote

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 apples, e.g. Gala
  • Cinnamon and sugar, mixed
  • 1 tsp, heaped jam (raspberry)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

An invention of mine

Peel the apples and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Add a little water to the pan and heat it up. Now add the cinnamon-sugar mixture and the apples. Stir well so it doesn’t stick. If necessary, increase the amount of water and/or cinnamon/sugar. It’s a matter of taste, so no specific quantities are given. Just make sure there isn’t too much liquid. Now add the raspberry jam, mix everything together, and let it simmer on low heat. The apples will become translucent, and the jam gives it a wonderfully special flavor. Goes perfectly with Alpine macaroni or pasta (Hörnli) and minced meat.
