Æbleskiver – Danish dough balls

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 400 ml cream
  • 6 eggs
  • 30 g yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Dough quantity is enough for 30 balls

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Then let the dough rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes. Heat an aebleskiver pan and grease it well (I always use plenty of liquid vegetable oil, as it’s easy to measure). Fill each pan 3/4 full with batter and quickly start rolling the dough balls with a wooden skewer until they’re nicely browned all over. Serve the finished dough balls with powdered sugar and red jam.
