Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 100 g flour
  • 50 g walnuts, ground
  • 4 egg whites
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 4 egg yolks

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 10 minutes

Mix the butter with the sugar. Add the flour and ground walnuts to form a smooth batter. Beat the egg whites until stiff and gently fold in. Spread evenly in a square pan (25 x 25 cm) and bake at 180°C for 30-40 minutes until golden brown. Beat the four egg yolks with the powdered sugar in a double boiler until the mixture is very light. Then pour over the batter and spread evenly. Let cool and carefully cut into small slices with a warm knife.
