Ingredients for 20 servings:

  • 5 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 100 g wheat flour or spelt flour
  • 3 m.-sized eggs
  • 200 ml milk
  • 100 g diced ham
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • salt and pepper

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Peel the onions, halve them, and slice them, then fry them in a little fat until golden brown. Meanwhile, combine the flour, milk, eggs, cheese, ham, and baking powder, and season with salt and pepper. Let the onions cool slightly, then add them to the batter. Mix everything thoroughly and fill small molds. Bake at 190°C for 15-20 minutes. It tastes great on a barbecue or simply with a salad. If you double the recipe, you can spread the batter on a baking sheet, bake at 190°C for 25-30 minutes, and cut it into pieces.
