Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g minced beef
  • 200 g minced pork
  • 1 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • 1 tbsp sauce (Terry sauce)
  • 1 dashes Tabasco
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch(s) nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 1 sprig(s) thyme, fresh, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp sauce (raspberry sauce)
  • ½ tsp chili flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

in the pan or on the grill

Knead the minced meat with mustard, teriyaki sauce, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme, then season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Let it rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour. In the meantime, prepare your own BBQ sauce: Whisk together the ketchup, BBQ sauce, raspberry sauce, and chili flakes, then heat briefly. Add additional seasoning if desired. Remove from the heat and let cool. Using a hamburger stencil or your hands, form steaks approximately 10 cm in diameter and 2 cm thick. Sear briefly, then let rest for a while. Brush with your own BBQ sauce and finish cooking in a grill pan. You can, of course, also put them on the grill. Be careful and use the finger pressure test frequently, just like with a steak, otherwise the meat will become too dry. While the minced steaks are cooking, brush them again with your own BBQ sauce.
