Almond-ginger sticks

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 350 g wholemeal flour
  • 1 tbsp cane sugar
  • 150 ml water, warm
  • ½ cube of fresh yeast or 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • 50 g almonds, chopped
  • 30 g ginger, freshly grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

In a bowl, combine yeast, sugar, water, salt, and a little flour until smooth. Add the oil and remaining flour and knead well. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Add the ginger and half of the almonds and let it rise again. Shape the dough into 12 long loaves and sprinkle with chopped almonds. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes.
