Ingredients

roasted onions

  • 200 g Meatloaf
  • 8 Romaine lettuce leaves
  • 4 tbsp Bavarian mustard
  • 4 tbsp Danish tartar sauce
  • 4 tbsp Cucumber relish (see my cookbook)
  • 4 Discs Mountain cheese
  • 4 Onions
  • 4 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika
  • 100 ml Sunflower oil

Instructions

  • For the fried onions, peel the onions and cut into thin rings. Halve this. Mix the onion strips with paprika and flour. Knock off any excess flour. Fry until golden brown in hot sunflower oil while turning.
  • Cut open the pretzel sticks. Leberkäse is cut into strips and sautéed in a little vegetable cream or oil in a pan. Brush the lower half of the pretzel sticks with 1 tablespoon each of sweet mustard. Place two lettuce leaves on top. Then place meat loaf strips, cheese, cucumber relish and fried onions on top. Brush the upper half of the pretzel stick with Danish remoulade and place on top.
  • Tip 3: Instead of romaine lettuce, you can also use other leaf lettuce. Children prefer to eat ketchup instead of mustard.
