Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 150 g flour
- 250 ml milk
- 3 m.-sized eggs
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 m.-sized onion(s)
- 65 g lean ham cubes
- 50 g Gouda, grated
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
Whisk together the flour, eggs, and milk and season. Let the batter rise in the refrigerator for half an hour. In the meantime, heat a pan with oil and fry the ham cubes. Transfer the fried ham cubes to a small container. Peel the onion, halve it, cut it into half rings, and fry it in the same pan until golden brown. Remove the batter from the refrigerator and stir in the ham cubes, onion rings, and Gouda cheese. Heat the pan again and add a ladleful of batter. Cook the first side until golden brown, turn it over, and cook the other side until golden brown. Repeat this process until all the batter is used up. Plate up and serve.
