very rich and very tasty!
Cut the butter into pieces, add the flour, sugar, and salt, and knead into a crumbly mixture. Mix the water, egg, and lemon juice, then add the flour and knead into a smooth dough. Form the dough into a ball and refrigerate for 1 hour. For the filling, peel, quarter, core, and slice the apples. Immediately drizzle with lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Divide the chilled dough into 2 portions and roll each out into a circle approximately 26cm in diameter. Place one circle in the buttered pan, lightly pressing the base and edges. Mix the sugars, flour, and cinnamon together and stir into the apple slices. Spread the apple mixture over the dough in the pan, scatter butter in small pieces on top, and place the second dough circle on top, pressing the edges together. Whisk the egg yolk and spread it over the dough lid. Prick several times with a knife. Bake for approximately 1 hour. Tip: In America, people like to eat vanilla ice cream with apple pie, it’s very delicious!
