Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 potatoes
  • 1 can of corn
  • 150 g cheese (Gouda)
  • 5 slices of bacon
  • 150 ml sweet cream
  • 2 slices of toast
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 egg(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Butter the casserole dish well; cook the potatoes and slice them. Fry the bacon until it’s nice and crispy. Drain the corn; cut the white bread into small cubes and fry them in a little butter (croutons); grate the cheese. Mix the corn, cheese, potatoes, and croutons, season with pepper and salt. Whisk the egg with the cream. Pour the potato and corn mixture into the casserole dish, sandwiching the bacon slices between them. Pour the cream over the mixture and place a few knobs of butter on top. Bake in the oven at approximately 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for approximately 30 minutes.
