Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 6 slices of white bread from the previous day
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 90 g raisins
- 4 eggs
- 500 ml milk
- 150 g white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- n. B. Whipped cream for serving
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Preheat the oven to 175°C (bottom heat if possible, otherwise top/bottom heat). Break the white bread slices into small pieces and place them in a 20 cm rectangular baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter over the bread. Scatter the raisins on top. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined, then pour the mixture over the bread, making sure the bread is well coated. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake the bread pudding for 45 minutes. The pudding is ready when the surface springs back when touched with a fork. Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool slightly, then serve with whipped cream. If you don’t like raisins, you can omit them.
