Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • ½ bell pepper(s), green
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Salt
  • 1 pinch(s) pepper, black
  • 250 ml milk
  • 115 g Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 60 ml mayonnaise
  • 700 g boiled potatoes
  • 400 g cooked ham

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 37 minutes; Total time approx. 57 minutes

Ham and Potato Casserole

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius, using bottom heat if possible. Chop the onion. Clean the bell pepper and cut into small pieces. Peel and slice the cooked potatoes. Sauté the onion and bell pepper in a pan over medium heat on the stovetop for 7 minutes. Add the flour, salt, and pepper and mix. Add the milk and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Then reduce the heat and add the cheese and mayonnaise, stirring. Leave on the stovetop until the cheese has melted. Add the cooked ham and potatoes and mix. Pour the mixture into a baking dish. Place the dish in the center of the oven and bake the casserole for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve.
